Did you know?

Can we work together?

1- For every One Unit of Electricity you Consume three times as much as energy is used to produce it.

The efficiencies of power plants range from 35 % to 42 %, ie from 100% power consumed by these plants a maximum of 40% is converted to electricity. To get the electricity generated by these plants to consumers, there would be some losses, called "distribution loss". These losses are due to energy dissipated in the conductors, transmission lines, transformers, sub-transmission lines, distribution lines and magnetic losses in transformers which all amounts to around 22.5%.

Cut Down Your Electricity Consumption.

2-You do not need to be vegetarian to save the planet. Protein contains amino acids which make up the chemicals that our body needs to repair cells and make new ones, additionally it is used by our brain to regulate our thoughts and feelings.

It also helps keep us feeling fuller for longer. Protein is in: lean meat, fish, eggs, cheese, legumes (peas, beans and lentils), soya products, nuts and seeds. However, did you know that it takes less than one and a half kilos of feed to produce one kilo of fish but it takes at least seven kilos of grain to produce one kilo of beef?

Eat more fish, less meat, it helps you and the environment.

3- We are polluting the air faster than ever. This pollution is slowly killing us, killing our children and killing all other creatures on earth.

Although it is possible to improve the air quality in our towns and cities by using electric cars, having pedestrian areas, using bicycles, using public transport, etc, this is not going to reduce the production of carbon dioxide, it is only shifting it from one place to another. The earth atmosphere is warming, a couple degrees may not seem like much but this has already led to climate change and the melting of the ice caps. If we do not reverse this, there would not be much left for future generations.

We have to act now and care more for what we have.

4- Only 3% of the world’s water is fresh water and two-thirds of that is tucked away in frozen glaciers or otherwise unavailable for our use.

As a result, some 1.1 billion people worldwide lack access to water. By 2025, half of the world’s population will be living in water-stressed areas. All of us have to play our part in saving water but 70% of the world's freshwater is used in agriculture. Implementing water saving methods in agriculture like drip irrigation, dry farming, hydroponics, aquaponics, etc.. is a move in the right direction.

Changing our farming practices is the key to saving water.

Let’s heal the world. Let’s make it a better place for you, for me and for our children.
